ABSTRACT

This chapter considers the ideological nature of education and educational reform internationally. It examines contemporary understandings that are pertinent to ontologically understanding relationship. The chapter focuses on a 'between of relating', after which understandings on a 'relational connectedness' is considered. The notion of 'relationships within a community' will be considered. It deals with a concern about the understanding of relationships and the contribution phenomenological research might make to understanding the nature of relationships. The chapter considers the centrality of relational sensibilities to our everyday experiences. Relational sensibilities are integral to Relational Leadership. It explores the relational nature of an organization's culture and provide strategies and learning activities for engaging others in a greater awareness of the phenomenological nature and influence of an organization's culture. It considers alternative practices and strategies on how everyday endeavours can be considered relationally. The chapter also presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in this book.
