ABSTRACT

A core concept is that female sexuality is first class, not inferior to male sexuality. In adult relationships, especially marriage or a life partnership, there are many more sexual similarities than differences between women and men. Female sexuality is more variable, flexible, complex, and individualistic, but not inferior. The female experience of responsive sexual desire, valuing nondemand pleasuring; embracing sensual, playful, and erotic scenarios as valuable in addition to intercourse; accepting that satisfaction includes orgasm, but is more than orgasm; and enjoying intimacy, touching, and sexuality in the 60s,70s, and 80s is integral to female and couple sexuality. First-class female sexuality is based on acceptance rather than performance or perfectionism. When the couple accepts the female—male sexual equity model and are intimate and erotic friends, couple sexuality is vibrant and satisfying. The woman accepts responsive sexual desire as first class and enjoys the 15–20% role of sexuality to reinforce her desire and desirability.
