ABSTRACT

I was fortunate to be invited by Dr Peter Shoenberg, on behalf of the Winnicott Trust, to run supervision seminars for the medical students attending his psychotherapy department at University College Hospital. These were enjoyable and rewarding years: the students were not “required” to attend my meetings and this meant that I worked with students who were keen to enlarge their knowledge. This work brought my way problems that I had only met many decades earlier when working in an in-patient unit of a general hospital.
