ABSTRACT
The collapse of real socialism in Poland created the need to develop a market mechanism. One of the principal foundations of any market mechanism is its financial system. The aim of this study is to look at the transformation of the Polish economy from the perspective of changes that have occurred in the economic system and the financial and economic policy pursued by the Polish state.
