ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book offers readers the current state of knowledge on the latest trends and modern solutions used in the analysis of xenobiotics. It provides information that will draw the reader’s attention to the procedures and equipment that have often been applied and proven in contemporary high-performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, gel electrophoresis, and capillary zone electrophoresis practices. The book deals with the properties of xenobiotic analytes and sample matrices. It explores the choice of the mode of chromatographic method for analysis of xenobiotics on the basis of the properties of analytes, for example, lipophilicity. The book examines the causes of matrix effects of xenobiotics analyzed by modern High-resolution mass spectrometry methods. It presents the choice of the mode of sample preparation by the quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, safe technique for analysis of xenobiotics on the basis of the properties of analytes and matrices.
