ABSTRACT

In this paper, we have experimentally realized Kerr Optical Frequency Combs (OFCs) with the bandwidth of ∼200 nm using general single pump approach in a silicon nitride micro-resonator with a quality factor of 8.2 × 105. In addition, we have observed the OFCs generation with varying free spectral range (FSR) spacing using a feedback loop. By selecting different resonant wavelengths through the tunable filter, OFCs with the frequency spacing varying from 1 to 6-fold FSRs are successfully achieved. The proposed OFC with varying FSR spacing is a promising tool form any potential and practical applications, such as optical communication systems, optical metrology, arbitrary optical waveform generation and optical signal processing.
