ABSTRACT

An approach is proposed to improve the measuring accuracy and reliability of a binocular structured light measurement system, based on multiple measurements. In this study, the traditional binocular structured light measurement system is rebuilt into two monocular structured light measurement systems and one traditional binocular structured light measurement system. Then, the object can be measured independently three times simultaneously, and three pieces of point cloud can be obtained. Finally, a piece of point cloud with higher precision and reliability can be achieved by the multi-view point-data Iterative Closest Points (ICP) registration based on the Moving Least-Squares (MLS) surface. Experiment results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
