ABSTRACT
Chapter 9 summarises the major findings of the empirical research undertaken in the volume. These findings are discussed in the context of the changing regulatory environment around the industrial sector, particularly dealing with the chosen industry. Analysis suggests that liberalisation of foreign investment policy did facilitate India in attracting a large volume of FDI, but this was not the kind of foreign investment which India needed to boost exports, support its BoP and strengthen indigenous technological capabilities.
