ABSTRACT

To supplement the previously introduced normal, t- and F-distributions, details of three additional probability distributions are given – the studentized range distribution, Dunnett's Test distribution, and the studentized maximum modulus distribution. Provided for the studentized maximum modulus distribution in the accompanying script file are samples of fairly complex code which might serve as a templates for analogous functions involving other probability distributions. The one-factor fixed-effects analysis of variance F-test along with the relevant assumptions and their implications, and three options for the subsequent pairwise comparisons are covered in some detail. For cases where the constant variances assumption is violated, but where the normality assumption is not, three equality-of-means tests are covered. Each of these methods has its own strengths, and these are outlined. These tests, too, are followed by options for performing pairwise comparisons if needed, also by way of three different methods.
