ABSTRACT

T. Kitwood and B. M. Miesen argue that the attachment histories of dementia carers themselves are of great importance within dementia care work. The eighteen week course was then reduced to eight weeks and piloted in a residential home which specialised in dementia care. The idea of linking miracles and dementia is probably beyond most expectations and experiences. However, there is a unique wonder in the recent cultural transformations that have taken place in dementia care. Further, it is hoped that this final chapter underpins and extends the value of the case-study within dementia care work and training. The importance of the narrative or life story in dementia has been a major theme in the work and is an area of interest to other theorists and practitioners. This has led to a general consensus that knowledge of a client's past enables greater communication between client and dementia care worker.
