ABSTRACT

The implementation of a systems project involves transforming the plans, designs and schedules which were drawn up at earlier stages in the study into a fully operational system. The coordination of the implementation project is essentially a managerial function which calls for the same planning, controlling and scheduling skills as during the earlier stages of the project. The timetable produced by these planning techniques is plotted on a chart representing the total time involved from the beginning to the end of the project. One of several common patterns for the changeover procedure is usually employed when installing a new system. The computer may be intolerant of the consequences of a build-up of static electricity which can sometimes be caused by particular clothing or furnishing material. Provision for the health, safety and comfort of employees includes consideration of the visual, postural, personal, psychological and environmental needs of all those who will operate computer equipment.
