ABSTRACT

In the preparation for the move to the “new territory”, to the clinic at the author's house, Caroline appears both agitated and excited, expecting something different now to happen. With the preparation for the move she has brought a book containing violent descriptions about slaughters in World War I. Caroline obviously knows that violence is about to enter the therapy and she doubts the author's ability to be able to contain it. Caroline had entered her work place and had left the door open. The cleaning lady, concerned for her safety and the safety of all, reminded her of the regulation. Caroline described how she was so angry that she banged her fist down on the table. She is very serious and then reminds the author that we had talked about arranging a meeting with the psychiatrist, something we had discussed as a contingency measure if things got worse with the addition of sessions and coming “closer to home”.
