ABSTRACT

Pam Schweitzer, MBE, founded Age Exchange Theatre Trust in 1983 through brilliantly understanding the need for Reminiscence Theatre and indeed she opened the first Reminiscence Centre in London in 1987. Anastasia Patrikiou brought in therapeutic approaches and Sir Richard Bowlby vividly showed how early trauma impacted on later memory. Hazel Leventhal brought her own care for her older sister into her moving relational talk, Kate White brought the personal and professional into her powerful presentation on the attachment perspective and Angela Cotter brought in her nursing home manager experience that came from a deep personal understanding of the field. Tackling traumatic sexual display in the elderly is a double taboo and to see it tackled this beautifully and lovingly brought tears of recognition.
