ABSTRACT

This chapter draws together themes explored in the preceding chapters and provide final remarks.

There is always a fine line between the necessary boundaries of a book and the tempting ground of proposed solutions. In an effort to tread this line, a framework of possible solutions, informed by many years’ worth of research, are outlined in this chapter.

In particular the issue could be tackled, from a contract perspective, using the example of industries that already work as a network or using a multilateral insurance system. Last but not least the book puts selected Civil Law traditions forward for the implementation of the protection of third parties in shipping.
