ABSTRACT
The relationship between law and landscape is generally considered in terms of the legal regulation of land use and development. This is to tell an incomplete story: law has left enduring marks on the landscape and continues to shape the physical environment. As links between the critical traditions in law and geography are made, so this relationship between law and landscape becomes a little clearer (Blomley and Balkan 1992; Cooper 1998).
