The most important thing is that evolution challenges are the most frequent type in a Super Mario World cadence. The designers of Super Mario World repeated themselves in the way they laid out many of their levels. The designers of Super Mario World were quite fastidious about making sure that their cadences were really coherent. The goal of Visual Cadence Map type of cadence analysis is to visualize the high-level structures at work in a level's cadence. The bow cadence is a lot like the fork cadence, in that there are clear branches in the level. A theme and variation cadence consists of a standard challenge that is reinterpreted by numerous evolutions. This cadence shape can almost look radial because so many of its challenges connect directly back to the standard. Cadence shapes can be carried over from one game to another with relative ease.
