ABSTRACT

In this chapter the use and capabilities of the package gProms are described. First, we outline some basics on the structure of the models. Next a very detail example is presented to comment on the development. Finally, a variety of examples are provided to show the capabilities of the package such as solving mass and energy balances for a small flowsheet, ordinary differential equations for the analysis of a batch reactor to produce ethanol, the use of loops for iterative processes involved in the CO2 capture, and the design of a shell and tube heat exchanger. We also highlight particular features such as the parameter estimation tool.
