ABSTRACT
The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, established in 1947 by Zhu Kezhen, is a large tertiary-A hospital with services in clinical care, professional education, and research. According to access and continuity of care (ACC) 2.1 and ACC2.2, when going through admission process, patient and family receives education on the ward environment, recommended care plan, expected outcome and estimated cost. In terms of patient transport alone, hospitals are expected to account for the devices involved in the transport, quality of the service from transporter, disinfection, and isolation and information exchange. In the registration counter, staff put a label with the patient’s name, medical record number, and date of birth on the patient’s hospital card or health insurance card, whose material has been tested before selection by Finance Dept. To bind medical record number with wristband: Barcoding, a simple, accurate, and reliable technology for graphic identification, has been used widely in logistic management.
