ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses a useful, practical and integrated picture of the future world by bringing together various sections of the puzzle, from the future of work, business, professions and technology to the future of society, politics and governance. The success of machines has caused surprise and enthusiasm for Artificial Intelligence (AI) amongst researchers and practitioners. In between the click and the delivery, there is also fuel consumption, pollution, traffic jams and the brute muscle force of individuals of any age, or push heavy stacked delivery trolleys. Government itself needs to maintain capacity and competence, transparency and effectiveness, to exercise its function and stay consistent with human values and aspirations. Collaborations between government, industry, education and individuals are key to a successful implementation of the needs and adaptation to massive changes ahead. AI and Robotics are particularly sensitive subjects since they are perceived as a direct threat to human employment and role in the world of work and in the economy.
