ABSTRACT
The original statements of d, of the clinical search for direct links between body and mind through “psychical treatment”, are at the heart of two clinical reports that are perhaps, our most important introductory essays in psychoanalysis. Both illustrate Freud’s statement that psychotherapy rests upon the influence of one mind upon another (Breuer, 1893; Freud, 1890a, 1893).
