ABSTRACT
Why did this happen now, in 2016, that I could set to and organise this book on a particular aspect of female sexuality, the biological reinterpretation of anatomy? It followed repeated unsuccessful attempts to publish in journals, despite helpful peer reviews. All this material, together with correspondence and lists of references, “littered” my files (to borrow Parker’s comment about the unconscious, see Chapter Three) and built up over fifteen years.
