ABSTRACT

Ms. Lisa Seftel was an anti-apartheid activist and worked for the Congress of South African Trade Unions until 1995 and then began working for the government once the country had gained democracy. She first worked for the Department of Labour and then transitioned into working for the provincial government and then moved to the City of Johannesburg. She kindly sat down with me to share her insights based on her fifteen years of experience into issues confronting Johannesburg's attempts to spatially transform.
