ABSTRACT

This chapter aims to describe the conceptualise emotion as a two-tier system of perception, communication, cognition and motivation which is triggered to protect the self image of reality when challenged, or projected in order to create an image of reality, externally on others. Emotion perceptions are used to determine individual and group reactions to new stimulation, either in response to experiencing new situations, or to discrepancies in previously encountered situations. The methodology is based on the idea that the truth about is revealed by experiencing different realities. The conference forms a temporary learning system which creates an environment with space for the delegates to broaden their understanding of these new realities, and which the delegates can use to expand their horizons. The aims of the conference are to provide learning experiences and opportunities and to understanding of working across national boundaries, and social interactions.
