ABSTRACT

Opportunistic networks (OppNets) are a subclass of delay-tolerant networks where communication opportunities are discontinuous in nature, so an end-to-end path may not exist. The OppNet is a wireless ad hoc network. It is the evolution of the Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET), which supports delay tolerance. A MANET is an independent scheme that works in mobile nodes without any pre-defined infrastructure communication system. Mobile Social Networks (MSNs) are used to provide a communication environment between people in an attractive way. MSNs take the benefits of wireless networks and OppNets. A sensor network is a collaborative result of hundreds or thousands of sensor nodes. Each sensor node contains four essential parts, such as a sensing unit, a processing unit, a radio unit, and a power unit. Wireless sensor networks are the networks which are spatially distributed over the range and gather information from the physical world.
