ABSTRACT

Today intelligent power systems with active and adaptive networks is a new paradigm, which presupposes the association of electric networks at the technological level with electric power consumers and producers with unified automated power systems. The basic purpose of such systems is to monitor the operating modes of all parties involved in electric power generation, transmission and consumption in real time. By receiving online signals through an extensive sensor system, the intelligent system has to respond automatically to all changes taking place in the power network, making optimal solutions for emergency avoidance and implementation of new power supply system elements with maximum reliability and economic efficiency. Thus the intelligent network is defined as set of firmware, connected to the generation sources, substations elements and electrical installations of the consumers, including information-analytical and control systems, providing reliable and efficient transmission of electric energy from a power generation source to the final customer in due time and in necessary quantity.
