ABSTRACT

Welcome to Mr. C’s chemistry class. Even though this is an early morning class, all the students are sitting still in their seats, facing the front of the room, without any wiggles or yawns. Today’s lesson is on the structure of Mr. C’s favorite molecules. Mr. C draws a diagram of a molecule on the board and explains it by showing the class a ball-and-stick model, which he manipulates and points to as he lectures away about the atoms and the connections between them. The students watch attentively with their eyes on the instructor. They all look like terrific learners to Mr. C. What could be a better way to learn from the demonstration than to sit still and watch carefully?
