ABSTRACT
This chapter returns to the ideas initially presented in Chapter 2, though now involving contrasting rather than parallel phrases in combination, while, at the same time, reinforcing concepts regarding phrase rhythm and phrase expansion. The material in this chapter is organized and presented in relation to the following formal types: a b, a a’ b a”, and a b a’.
