ABSTRACT

This chapter argues for the importance of applying strategic considerations to the utilisation of multimedia technologies, with particular reference to use of the latter as a training aid. It thus provides a concrete illustration of the practical importance of strategy as argued in other chapters in this volume. The value of multimedia technologies is first presented, followed by the case for employing a strategic approach if the potential offered by multimedia is to be realised. Finally some suggestions are made as to what such a strategic approach should comprise.
