ABSTRACT

I think most therapists would agree that they learn about themselves through their patients at least as much as they help their patients learn about themselves. There is a sense of satisfaction and nourishment when a session has helped us think clearly about life and its predicaments. This is more likely to happen when an exploratory conversation is harboured as a legitimate way to use the therapy space and to facilitate the therapy process. In this short story, a question is asked about the importance of feeling a connection with another in a close relationship, and what to do when we establish deep connections with people we no longer have in our lives.
