ABSTRACT
One of the most revolutionary exposes of child sex abuse and the sexual abuse of children by females centred upon the McMartin Pre-school facility, Manhattan Beach, California. With regard to multiple perpetrators involving “pornography, ritualistic practice, extended and bizarre abuse” over protracted periods of time, and children suffering “the most serious and lasting damage”. The child protection agency, Kidscape, report more than one hundred victims of sexual abuse on their files. The National Incidence Study reported that 13% of female sexual abuse victims and twenty-four per cent of male sexual abuse victims stated that they had been abused by a female. In Western society it would appear that we have virtually sanitised extreme female sexuality and perversion, or assigned it to the brothel and to pornography. Research undertaken in Northern Ireland Child Sexual Abuse in Northern Ireland, established that “some 298 of girls were abused by a male while 4 were abused by a female”.
