ABSTRACT

Manager Software Products (MSP) was founded in 1966, and is best known for its dictionary product, DATAMANAGER, virtually a standard product in many IBM mainframe installations. MSP was one of the first vendors to receive application development cycle development information from IBM, and can translate and transfer information between the MSP and IBM repositories. MSP’s front end computer aided systems engineering offering is managerVIEW. It is an interesting tool, as it can run in three different modes depending on the user’s requirements: stand-alone, loose-host-connectivity, and close-host-connectivity. Several methodology models are supported by METHOD-MANAGER, covering the following areas: life cycle; activity/tool usage; diagram schema; documentation; export/import; and schema/repository information. RDADE users can choose to use their own tools, or select them from MSP or other vendors. A set of toolset services enables the chosen set to be integrated.
