ABSTRACT

The focus group discussion should happen within the first few meetings of the action team while conversations of the memorandums of understanding (MOU) and identifying points of contact are also on the agenda. When convening the action team, it is important to document these specific concerns to guide action team agenda items and specific goals, mission, and values. In order to ensure that all members are committed to the team and the work that may be required, it is helpful to create an MOU. Information sharing will assist not only in the timeliness of individual educational planning but also in data collection for showing effectiveness. The action team might want to consider bringing in an outside evaluation firm to best collect all data possible in the efforts to show effectiveness. In addition to measuring client data, the process of systemic changes can be well documented by surveying perception of improvements by staff working in the field.
