ABSTRACT

The inspirational story is about a particular American law school Seton Hall Law School in Newark, New Jersey - and the struggle of some of its faculty, students, and friends to grapple with one of the most divisive issues in modern American life - racial segregation in housing. The law school, the University, and the Center for Social Justice were applauded for educating the public and students in the university on this most important topic for New Jersey. Seton Hall Law School is a Catholic diocesan law school located in downtown Newark, New Jersey. Like many American big cities, Newark and the other large New Jersey cities are plagued with the disease of substandard housing. Newark's housing stock is by far the worse of practically any city on the eastern seaboard. The study of law in America thus became 'self-contained' and divorced from the other fields of knowledge traditionally researched and studied in the universities.
