ABSTRACT
The Dynix Acquisitions Module is a fully integrated part of the Dynix system, and is used to control all aspects of material acquisition. The sub-system record defines default values for acquisitions type; order blank; warning, password and per-item limits for funds; collection code; and item type. Acquisitions types must therefore be set up before any items can be ordered and this is done via Update Acquisition Types (UAT) on the Codes and Types menu. The Dynix system will allow orders to be placed in any currency, and foreign currency amounts are converted automatically by the system to base currency, using rates in the Exchange Rate Table. The system is installed with a list of foreign currencies, but the exchange rates for these currencies at the time of installation will not reflect current values and should be updated before the system is used.
