ABSTRACT

Complexity studies involve interdisciplinary cooperation between researchers in many different fields. Complexity theory has given impetus to a number of artists who have used visualizations and sequential repetition to approach the subject of complexity. In terms of mathematical modelling, gene patterns in DNA – the science of genomics and neural nets – which can mimic life, ecological models of biological systems and models of the brain are all areas of research. The discussion of science's place in culture dates back to the late 1820s, according to Richard Holmes. Under the theme of the decline of science in Britain, there were a series of publications by John Herschel, Charles Babbage and David Brewster. Fuzzy trace theory developed out of the puzzling observation that in spite of more detailed information being available, people's decisions on health issues affecting them did not change.
