ABSTRACT
Dumfries and Galloway lies in the South West of Scotland and includes the most southerly point in Scotland, the Mull of Galloway. The region covers an area of 2,460 square miles and is the fifth largest of the nine mainland regions of Scotland with a population of 148,400 and a coastline of some 200 miles.
