ABSTRACT
Studying how to handle difficult situations beforehand might have eased the situation for professionals who were confronted by one audience or another, but not necessarily the media. It also contains actual questions that have been asked of individuals in every area of the aviation industry around the world, along with some dos and don’ts. The worst mistake readers can make is to try and accommodate a question with an answer – especially if readers do not know the answer. This guidance works with regulators, investigators, family members, and media. An aviation event is a situation where the parties are trying to comply in the name of safety and prevention and an inadvertent violation takes place. This situation could include a pilot who drank alcohol prior to a flight, an employee who was dealing drugs in the workplace, an employee who was stealing parts or money, or other similar events.
