ABSTRACT

The major mistake that organizations make in an incident is that they communicate with the same strategy they would for an accident. They issue the same information in an effort to give details and end up opening doors and elevating the event. The 4-point formula is the ultimate safety net to avoid some of the responses. The objective of responses in an incident scenario is to close the door as quickly as possible and defer to the experts because it goes away quicker than with a crash with deaths and injuries. All the responses that are based on a strategy to just answer questions lead to a negative outcome for the responder. The objective should be to give the strongest response and that would be the one that shows the system of checks and balances.
