ABSTRACT

This chapter outlines a number of steps which organisations need to take to build a strategic approach to community involvement in health. The chap ter begins with describing three sets of activities for all organisations con cerned with community involvement. It is followed by a summary of the critical path to involvement and a description of each step in detail, with an example of how each one has been used in practice. It then considers some of the training and organisation development implications for organisa tions who wish to take forward this approach.
