ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we address the all-important issue of how to work effectively with parents and other influential family members. We stress the importance of parents sharing the goals and perspectives of the PSE in order to achieve success in and after the program. We encourage families to also trust the process while encouraging PSE program personnel to also remember to consider family members and individualize when possible and knowing what is best for the student. We conclude the chapter with suggestions and practical ways families can prepare their sons and daughters for college and beyond while persevering to the highest expectations and opportunities possible.
