ABSTRACT

For each controller, select the controller and then the joint; run the Offset Controller script. Repeat this for each spine and neck joint. An Inverse Kinematic (IK) Spline setup gives a very different type of movement to the forward kinematic (FK) spine setup. The IK Spline will rotate from the bottom of the neck, and then the inner portion of the neck is driven by translating the Control Vertices. With all of the set driven key nodes selected one can lock the translate and scale attributes, and all of their translate and scale attributes will be locked. To complete the setup, we want the controls to rotate one another in an FK fashion from the bottom of the spine to the top, since we bend from the hips; that is where the base of the rotation starts.
