ABSTRACT

Quick Rig is found under Windows>Animation Editors> Quick Rig. When first opened, it has a shiny button that is so alluring entitled "Auto-Rig". In the quick Rig window, select the Step by Step radio button. Click the "+" button at the top of the window. Open the Character Control tool by clicking on Show/Hide character controls tool found in the upper right corner of Maya's main window. This tool will read and recognize the skeleton and the control rig created by the Quick Rig tool. CCT will create a base skeleton and one can add joints live by changing the attributes. For the CCT to be able to create a control rig, it expects the arms, or in this case wings, to be flat across the x-axis. It will be ok with rotational numbers at this point in the arms.
