ABSTRACT
Actual mining at the enterprises of PJSC MMC «Norilsk Nickel» is conducted in complex mining conditions. The conditions are characterized mainly by the flat ore occurrence, the large sizes of ore fields, complex geodynamical conditions, a considerable depth of ore occurrence—from 200 to 2500 m. One of these particularly difficult sites is the Big Gorst. This article tells about the experience of conducting a complex of geomechanical research and calculations that provide a reliable basis for making technical decisions on the development of this site.
