ABSTRACT

The study focuses on energy conversion and transfer in the block-rock medium on impact loading. Block-rock medium is an assembly of block structure parted alternatively by friable layers. On dynamics loading it can be produced pendulum type waves in the block structure, which accompany with sharply energy variation and propagation in this system. Base on the model of block-rock medium with elastic springs and viscous damping between the blocks, elastics potential energy of friable weak layers and kinetic energy of blocks conversion to each other and transfer in the block-rock medium on pendulum type waves propagation is studied. The effect of block-rock system parameters including mass of block, partings viscosity and elasticity property to the variation of kinetic energy of block, elastics potential energy of friable layers and the system mechanical energy are compared on the numerical calculation. The mechanism of energy conversion and propagation and dissipation in the chain of one dimensional block-rock medium system is analyzed.
