ABSTRACT
This is the culminating chapter in this storytelling theme of this book, which tracks the contributions of industrial engineering from the shop-floor era to the present-day digital engineering. The emergence of additive manufacturing or direct digital manufacturing presents an additional opportunity for the application and growth of industrial engineering. The joint work in additive manufacturing by the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory and the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology is discussed in this chapter.
