ABSTRACT

The paper presents the basic results of physical and mathematical modeling of mining-induced processes causing failure in rock mass. These results are useful for the applied and basic research. The implemented studies have enabled updating mechanisms of failure in coal saturated with gases and determining effects preceding failure. Moreover, 3D geo-models have been constructed to describe sagging and lamination of roof rocks, spontaneous sloughing of coal, clustering of induced damages in rocks, propagation of blasting-caused wave of displacements and stresses in nonuniform rock mass, landsliding etc.
