ABSTRACT
Bugan appears to be about 6$ years old. She lives in the household o f her grandson, Ganu, a young priest who was occasionally one o f my informants. When able, she works with Ganu’s wife in the camote fields or at her loom, but she is frequently laid up for two or three days at a time by pains in her stomach. I gave her some medicine but it was ineffective and earned me no gratitude.
