ABSTRACT

The history of Rank Xerox goes back to 1956 when Xerox Corporation in the US and the Rank Organisation plc in the UK formed a joint venture. Rank Xerox became the international sales and marketing organisation for Xerox Corp. Until the 1970s Rank Xerox was a traditional technology-led business protected by patents. Rank Xerox’s vision for the future is that it will be the leader in the global document market by providing document services that enhance business productivity. Rank Xerox argues that documents are the lifeblood of business, with over 90 per cent of all business information stored in documents, either on paper or digitally. Rank Xerox runs its business through the Xerox Management Model. Radical Innovation as an archetype focuses upon radical innovation in products and processes to achieve cost reduction whilst the business is in turnaround mode. Business results includes customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, market share, productivity, and profitable growth.
