ABSTRACT

The responses of the interviewees to the questions were analysed and categorised. Five major themes emerged: there are very few good examples of interpretation in heritage revitalisation projects in Hong Kong; there are definable reasons why telling the story of these sites gets lost in the end result of such projects; the way projects have been and are structured has an impact on the quality of interpretation; there are steps the Hong Kong government should take to promote interpretation within heritage revitalisation projects; Hong Kong society is changing and this will have implications for interpretation in the future.
