ABSTRACT

The seventh and last step of the cross-border collaborative journalism work process is to make one’s work visible in the networks of one’s peers. Visibility in these networks helps find the right colleagues to set up new teams for new projects. In doing so, the journalist becomes an actor in the social networks of internationally minded colleagues. This chapter presents one such network, the global network of investigative journalists and its national or even local members. To gain a deeper understanding of the functioning of such structures, social network analysis is an obvious tool and will be introduced very briefly.
